Lil Lewicki

Well, here is baby lewicki.
  • I officially can't breath well, while tying my shoes.
  • I have stopped caring about being pregnant & cute, & just want comfort. Today that meant wearing Joel's shirt, vs my, now, crop tops.
  • I cry about every other day.
  • My belly button is no longer an iny, or an outy, just level.
  • I had to make my first decision remembering to include child care options.
  • I want to clean/paint and decorate EVERYTHING. I think that its called "nesting" because the cleaning part is definitely not natural.
  • I crave nothing in particular but have an increased infatuation with potatoes. I love cottage cheese, and most other kinds of cheese, bananas, meat, fruit, milk, yogurt, cream cheese things, etc. My desire for diet coke is turning into an obsession with sweet tea. I make a pitcher a day. I'd rather not have sweets, and am quite indifferent about vegetables.(except green beans. I suddenly hate them.)
  • I suddenly can sleep in. My personal alarm clock of 5:00am-7:00am, has now been pushed back to 8:00 or 9:00. I'm afraid to see how late I would lie there if I let myself.
  • Heels, which I was previously addicted to, have gotten lost in my closet. I put a pair on the other day, for a bridal shower that was to be held in my house. I got from the bed room to the kitchen where I turned right back around and kicked them off as fast as I could.
  • I've started walking 20 - 30 min a day. For the first time ever, I am working out for reasons other than weight and fitness. Walking has been a "back saver." I can actually be happy again at night.
I think this includes most all of my pregnancy information updates. Even if they aren't interesting for others, I'm glad to have details written down, so I can look back on them in the future. The nursery has been started. Our only purchases so far include a crib, and a bassinet. I am in the middle of painting the remaining wood work and doors, and also doing a wall art, canvass, painting project thing. I am on the look out for a white or brown shelf for storage. Also those basket/boxy things to hold items on the shelf. I would love room for 6 boxes. I would be ok with standing or wall attached. I really want to do the whole project for under $50 so keep your eyes open for deals!
Joel and his friend joke about "knowing" that its a boy. I laugh because I've recently informed them that their "manly boy" is practicing to be an olympic gymnist. Its the funnest stage yet, and I'll be sad to see it go.

Well I hope everyone is having an amazing January. Its flying by much faster than I imagined. Only 99 more days till D-date! Get ready to babysit! :)

accountability blog

For years productivity wasn't a challenge at all...My mom's forced cleaning lists, teachers setting due dates, employers expectations, etc. Now, no one's my boss. For the first time EVER, I am the initiator, the goal setter, the cheerleader, the doer, the finisher, and sometimes the congratulatory party. That's a lot of roles.

So, this is my accountability blog. Part of my motivation in the past has been others and my people pleasing personality. Joel is great about patting me on the back for a job well done, and appreciating something as simple as, hanging up his sweat shirts so he can see them. He is also good at not criticizing too much should I not get much done during the day. "You were busy growing a baby," he says. But you and I both know, its much to easy to get lost in "What not to Wear", or take an hour nap, when only 1/2 hr was needed. So this is the blog whereI share my "pre-baby" goals. I'm hoping that writing them down and having others see them starts a fire under my pants. Hopefully the fear of you asking how the goals are going, or you coming over to my house and seeing it not done, is embarrassment enough to take my lists off paper, and get thm done! Here we go!

  • Office boxed up and moved downstairs
  • Organize games etc in the family room
  • Re-arrange furniture in the family room
  • Paint baby room
  • Get my dresser from my sister, strip it and re-paint
  • Start 2 week menu, and 2 week grocery list
  • Make simple cleaning schedule. Floors weekly, Bathrooms weekly, Dust monthly, Fridge monthly, Closet bi-weekly, Counters weekly, etc
  • to be continued
So there is the preliminary list. there seemed to be much more going on in my head, so I'm sure to add to it later. I guess its almost 9 and I should go get busy! Wish me luck!

And a happy new year...

Well, Its 6:30 a.m. and unfortunately I've been up since 4:15. I'm wide awake in the middle of the night, and love afternoon/evening naps. Grrrrr. On a positive note, I had free time to figure out how to upload pictures on my blog, without help. Now that I have pictures up, I wish I could acutally place them where I want to!

Here are some pictures from my great holiday season! I had a cookie bake with some friends, experimented with the glue gun and crafts, and spent a really great 3 days at my parents new house. It was super relaxing with ice fishing, poker, a talent show dominated by my parents, my nephew with the hit gift of a "shooter gun", and my niece stealing the attention with her manipulative cuteness. We extended the holiday season with the wedding of Pat Downes and Liz Mcfarland. Everything came into place beautifully. Joel performed the ceremony, and although I'm biased, he did a great job. We were surprisingly successful at doing the flowers ourselves, and I managed to do all the hair without any major emergencies. (The flowers were shockingly easy, and looked incredibly professional. It was a HUGE money saver) Although it was an incredible month I can say that i'm glad its ALL over.

Onto baby updates... I'm now finished with 24 weeks(5 months) of pregnancy. I had a doctors apt friday, and it went great. I managed to stay within my weight goal, and my doctor seemed suprised but happy. She irritated me a little by her reaction to my measurement. I'm measuring 27 weeks, three weeks early. She seems to think its a problem that I have a healthy and consequently large child. Does she know anything about Joel and I's genes and appreciation for food? Overall, things couldn't be better. My back hurts quite a bit, but I've started walking/stretching and I think its helping. (Don't tell my mom. She'll get a big head)

I think thats all the new news for now.
Wishing you all a happy January!
